What we do

Gas, boilers, heating and hot water

That is the whole list, and it is deliberate. We are not general plumbers who also touch gas — gas and heating is the work.

Boiler repair

Locked out, leaking, cutting out or showing a fault code. Diagnosed properly rather than guessed at.

  • Fault codes and lockouts
  • Pressure loss
  • Noisy or kettling boilers
  • Parts replaced, not whole boilers

Boiler installation

Combi, system or heat-only, sized on the property rather than on what’s in the van.

  • Combi swaps
  • System boiler and cylinder
  • Back boiler removals
  • Boiler relocations

Gas safety certificates

CP12 certificates for landlords, carried out and emailed over the same day.

  • Landlord gas safety checks
  • All appliances tested
  • Certificate same day
  • Service on the same visit

Boiler servicing

An annual service is what keeps the warranty valid and catches faults before winter does.

  • Full strip and clean
  • Combustion analysis
  • Flue and ventilation checks
  • Written service record

Central heating

Full systems, radiator work, powerflushing and balancing so the whole house heats.

  • Full heating installs
  • Powerflush and filters
  • Radiator swaps and moves
  • Controls and zoning

Cylinders & hot water

Unvented cylinders, vessels and controls for houses a combi can’t keep up with.

  • Unvented cylinder installs
  • Vessel and valve replacement
  • Immersion and controls
  • Hot water fault finding

No heating, no hot water, or a smell of gas?

One number, any hour. A Gas Safe registered engineer answers it — not a call centre.

Safety first

What to do in a gas emergency

Worth reading now rather than looking it up while it’s happening.

⚠ If you can smell gas

Do not use this website, a light switch, a doorbell or a mobile phone indoors. Open the doors and windows, turn the gas off at the meter if you can reach it safely, get everyone outside, and ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 — free, 24 hours a day.

Ring them first. Ring us second, on 0113 490 0490, and we will pick up the repair once the supply has been made safe.

Signs of a gas leak

A smell of gas, a hissing near an appliance or the meter, or the smell coming and going in one part of the house. Trust it and act on it, even if nobody else can smell it.

Signs of carbon monoxide

Carbon monoxide has no smell. Look for lazy yellow or orange flames instead of crisp blue, sooty or black marks around an appliance, a pilot light that keeps going out, and more condensation than usual on the windows near it. Headaches, dizziness or nausea that ease when you leave the house need a doctor as well as an engineer.

Fit an alarm

An audible carbon monoxide alarm to BS EN 50291 costs very little and is the only thing that detects CO before you do. Fit one in any room with a gas appliance and test it.

How we work

Diagnosed, explained, then priced

Gas work is the one trade where you genuinely cannot check the workmanship yourself. So the least we can do is show you what we found and why we are recommending it.

  • You get shown the faultIf we say a diverter valve has gone, you get to see the valve, not just the invoice line.
  • Repair before replacementWe will tell you when a repair keeps you going another few years, even though a new boiler pays us more.
  • Sized on the propertyBathrooms, radiators, mains flow rate. A combi that is wrong for the house disappoints everybody for a decade.
  • Filter and flush as standardA new boiler on a dirty system is a warranty claim waiting to happen.
  • Commissioned and documentedCombustion checked, pressures set, paperwork completed and handed over.

Had a great experience and would 100% recommend! We had a leak in our washer and a previous leak under the bathroom sink. The team was able to address both issues and also caught a small leak in our washer hose that could have caused problems later. You can tell they put a lot of honesty and care into their work. We’ve had our fair share of bad plumber experiences, but with them, we really appreciated how we were shown the root of each problem and kept informed throughout. They also made sure to test everything multiple times to ensure the issues were fully resolved.

FAQs

Gas and boiler questions, answered straight

The things people ask before they book. If yours isn’t here, just ring and ask.

What should I do if I can smell gas?

Ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 straight away — it is free and staffed 24 hours. Open doors and windows, turn the gas off at the meter if you can reach it safely, do not touch light switches or use a phone indoors, and get everybody out. Once the supply has been made safe, ring us and we will take on the repair.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes. Every gas job — repairs, installations, servicing, certificates and appliance connections — is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. You are entitled to ask to see the card at the door, and you should ask that of anybody who turns up to work on gas.

My boiler has locked out with a fault code. Is that serious?

Usually not. Most lockouts are the boiler protecting itself — low pressure, a blocked condensate in cold weather, a failed sensor or an ignition fault. Resetting it once is fine. Resetting it repeatedly is not, because you are overriding a safety device without knowing why it tripped. Tell us the code when you ring and it narrows things down before we arrive.

Is it worth repairing an old boiler or should I replace it?

Depends on age, the part, and whether it is still supported. A ten year old boiler needing a common part is usually worth fixing. One needing a heat exchanger, or one where parts are obsolete, generally is not. We will tell you which yours is, including when the honest answer is that a repair keeps you going another few years.

How long does a boiler replacement take?

A straight combi swap in the same position is usually a day. Moving the boiler, converting from a tank system, or fitting a cylinder is typically two to three days. You get a timescale in writing with the quote.

What is a gas safety certificate and do I need one?

It is a record that a Gas Safe registered engineer has checked every gas appliance in the property. Landlords are legally required to have one renewed every 12 months for each rented property. Homeowners are not required to have one, though many do when selling.

Do you service boilers as well as repair them?

Yes. An annual service is usually a condition of keeping a manufacturer warranty valid, and it is the cheapest way to find a fault in October rather than January.

Can you move my boiler to a different room?

Often, yes. It depends where the flue can terminate, whether the gas supply can be upgraded if needed, and where the condensate can drain. All three get checked before we quote, not after.

Do you do gas cookers and fires as well as boilers?

Yes — cooker and hob connections, gas fire servicing and safety checks are all gas work and all covered by the same registration.

Which parts of Leeds do you cover?

All of them. City centre, Headingley, Horsforth, Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Pudsey, Bramley, Morley, Rothwell, Garforth, Guiseley, Otley, Wetherby and everywhere between.
