Full systems, cylinders, radiators, powerflushing and balancing. The bit people are told needs a new boiler when it usually doesn’t.
Diagnosis
A boiler that fires and a house that never warms up are two different faults. Replacing the first will not fix the second, and plenty of people find that out expensively.
Black magnetic debris settles in radiator bottoms and pipework. Rads warm at the top and cold at the bottom, black water when you bleed them, and a boiler that cuts out. Flush it, then fit a filter so it does not come straight back.
Rads nearest the pump take the flow. Setting the lockshields evens it out so the far bedroom gets its share. Costs nothing but a couple of hours and fixes more cold houses than anything else.
One thermostat in a hallway controlling a three storey house will never satisfy everybody. Zone valves and proper controls let you heat the parts you are actually in.

Hot water
If the shower drops to a trickle when somebody runs the kitchen tap, no amount of boiler replacement will fix it. That is a stored hot water question.
Radiators

If it is cold at the bottom and warm at the top, that is sludge sitting in the bottom of the radiator. Cold at the top and warm at the bottom is trapped air, which bleeding fixes. Cold all over usually means a stuck valve or a rad that has been closed off and forgotten.
Balancing. Radiators nearest the pump take the flow first unless the lockshield valves are set to even it out. It is a couple of hours of work with a thermometer and it is the most commonly skipped job in heating.
Pumping a cleaning solution round the system at pressure to shift magnetic sludge out of radiators and pipework. You need it if radiators are cold at the bottom, the bleed water runs black, or the boiler keeps cutting out. You do not need one just because somebody quoting for a boiler said so — ask them to show you the system water.
Yes. Pipework re-run to the new position, and in a room with a suspended floor that is usually straightforward. Solid floors mean either running in the wall or accepting surface pipework, which we will talk through before starting.
Yes. They look right in older Leeds properties and they hold heat beautifully. The things to check first are the weight when filled, whether the floor and fixings will take it, and that the valves and tails suit.
Yes, wet underfloor systems laid, clipped, manifolded and pressure tested before the screed goes over. It works best planned in with an extension or a floor replacement rather than retrofitted into a single existing room.
If you have two or more bathrooms in regular use, very likely. A cylinder stores hot water so several outlets can run together. It costs more and needs space, but it is the only thing that genuinely fixes a shower that dies when someone runs a tap.
